Established in 2021 under the umbrella of Qatar Development Bank and officially accredited by GS1, GS1-Qatar is the sole national authority authorized to issue Qatar’s global barcode numbers under country code (630).
In alignment with Qatar National Vision 2030, GS1-Qatar provides internationally recognized barcode and traceability solutions that support product identification, market access, regulatory compliance, brand protection, and the global competitiveness of Qatari products and services.

Officially recognized as a GS1 Member Organisation (MO), enabling local companies to access global barcode prefixes and international data pools.
2021
Foundation of GS1 Qatar
Established under the patronage of the Ministry of Commerce and Industry – MOCI to introduce global identification standards to the Qatari market.
